THAT Dress

Hello again lovelies!

Last month my sister bought this gorgeous little dress to wear to a Christening! Recognise it?

After showing me the dress I fell in love with it, I decided I'd make a cheeky purchase myself the next day.  Unfortunately with no such luck.

Here's why...

Queen B was papped wearing the same dress.
The next day BOOM it was sold out in every Topshop to grace the planet.
Topshop's Satin Stripe A-Line Dress went A-List!

Frock Horror!

Like most girls I love fashion, I love getting dressed up, trying out different looks and basically playing around with style however I have fallen out of love with 'fashion trends'....let me explain.

I was going to a party last Saturday at my boyfriends cousins house, she lives over an hour drive away so I decided I'd wear a comfortable, recent River Island purchase and current trend....the Midi-Dress

Being vertically challenged I had to take it up a little (ok a lot) an inch too short or long and the 'midi' just doesn't work!
Anyway a combination of leaving myself too little time to make alterations and a snow storm (what is with that, White Easter???!) meant I unfortunately had to choose a different outfit :(

I wanted to wear my new dress, I was sad...until I got the party!!!

Almost every girl at the party had followed the Midi-Dress trend and 3 of them had the dress I had been about to wear!!!

After the initial shock/relief and a few French Martini's I started to find the situation amusing although the fact that no one mentioned it made me think they didn't find it quite as amusing.

The stats: 24 girls at the party, 19 in Midi-Dresses, 3 in my dress and 2 other sets of midi-dress 'twins'. That is crazy!!!!

I returned the dress the very next day i couldnt bring myself to wear it, as much as I loved it, it seems too many other girls did too!

I had a close shave from this frock horror but I guess, I love fashion I will continue to follow trends and buy on the high street my time will come soon enough!

Are we ladies or sheep?

Do you follow trends?

Have you ever turned up to an event and someone has the same dress on?

It's almost the weekend :) have a good, Good Friday and....

Keep Smiling :D

A fashion post?...

Hi lovelies

I hope you've all had a fantastic weekend!

I had a very quiet weekend here's what I wore...

SATURDAY: Work
Black/grey polka dot jersey dress - USC
Black tights - Primark
Black bow ballerina flats - Primark

I normally only work Monday to Friday occasionally I have to come in on a Saturday if we have deadlines approaching.
I usually wear heels but my legs were a little sore after a circuits class on Friday night :(

SATURDAY EVENING: Cinema Date
Nude pink cropped sweater, embellished shoulders - Miss Selfridge
Navy Blue skinny jeans - Miss Selfridge
Nude platform pumps - KG
 watch - Michael Kors

I am a movie buff, I love going to the cinema.  Although I'm not a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino I really wanted to see Django Unchained (I am a huge fan of Jamie Foxx)
I loved it, the other half hated it (we couldn't be more opposites if we tried)

SUNDAY: Shopping/Lunch
White/grey lip pattern T-shirt - River Island
Grey high-waisted skinny jeans - Topshop
Black pointed pumps - Office
watch - Michael Kors

My sister and I went out for lunch then put the last of our christmas gift cards to use.

Outfit posts aren't usually my thing (I'm sure you can tell by the awkward posing and unattractive backdrop) but I love seeing them on other blogs, let me know what you think?

Happy Monday!

Keep Smiling :D

Sunday...

I attended the Girls Day Out Show at the SECC in Glasgow, a friend of mine has a shoe shop and had a display there, so my sister and I tagged along with her to see what all the fuss was about.

Basically a huge hall filled with stands, stalls and displays of all things girls love, beauty treatments, nail bars, hair salons(there were even people getting laser teeth whitening!!) jewellery, cocktail bars, cupcakes, fashion stores, make- up stores, etc

They had fashion shows, a modelling contest and lots of handsome, half naked men walking around.  We got some free champagne cocktails, chocolate fondue and even some free make-up samples :)

TOWIE's Lauren Goodger was there too, promoting her range of tanning products - Laurens Way (she tried on some shoes at my friends stand)

What a fun packed, girlie weekend!
What did you get up to?

Keep Smiling :D

'It's ok it's on sale'

Christmas is just around the corner (32 more sleeps) technically I should stop buying for myself until after the festivities. Unfortunately this is exactly the time of year I find myself shopping then justifying with...

'It's OK, they were on sale!' or
'its fine its just from Primark!'

We all have a naughty side, how do you justify spending when you really shouldn't?
Today is Black Friday, that's got to be an excuse for shopping, right ladies?

Keep smiling :D

Black coated trousers -Primark £15
Crochet sweater -Primark £8

Hump Day Happiness...

Wednesday evening means we’ve made it over the hump of the week, it, all going well should now be a short, smooth run to the weekend.

Here’s a random selection of things making me happy half way through the week : D

READING I’ve stumbled across a blog which I’m totally loving, Diary of a Short Girl, if you love fashion and celebrity inspired looks, particularly if, like me, you are ‘fun-sized’ go check it out

diaryofashortgirl.blogspot.co.uk

LISTENING to the amazing Alicia Keys, Girl on Fire. WOW!

LOVING Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake and also Starbucks Gingerbread Latte. Yum

WISHING it would snow! Its practically been winter all year here in the UK, surely its time for some snow!

THINKING Christmas is creeping up on us at an alarming rate(where has the last year gone!) so mostly I’ve been thinking what to gifts to get for my friends and family!

FEELING slightly annoyed at myself, but mostly, super excited for the photo messages to commence. As I type, Rod Stewart is filming a Christmas special for ITV tonight in Stirling Castle which is not far from where I live, a group of my friends managed to get tickets, it’s a black tie affair and with a small audience. I believe there will be celebrity guests such as Michael Buble, Mary J Blige, Kylie and according to her Twitter, Holly Willoughby is there too. Why did I pass on this??

WEARING just home from the gym, running shoes and lycra, so I’ll leave out the pictures this week, Eugh!!

What has been making you happy this week?

Keep Smiling :D
